About Our Presenter: With over 23 years fundraising experience with organizations across the country, Vice President of Business Development Lee Mikell anticipates and addresses client needs. His record demonstrates consistent successes and indicates his ability to define specific challenges and develop unique solutions for achieving fundraising goals.

Prior to joining Corporate DevelopMint as a senior consultant, Lee held various fundraising administrative positions at a number of higher education institutions. At Louisiana State University, he was Director of the Annual Fund and promoted to Associate Director of Development. At Millikin University in Illinois, he was Director of Development with the Offices of Alumni Affairs, Research and Records and Annual Fund directly reporting to him. He served as Director of Institutional Advancement at the University of South Florida before becoming Campaign Director at Jacksonville University in Florida and later promoted to Assistant Vice President for Advancement there.

 

Lee’s proven track record as a “change agent” for building and revamping Advancement Office operations (Annual Fund, Major Gifts, Planned Gifts, Research, Electronic Screening, Board relationships, and Alumni Affairs) for growth and success demonstrates his knowledge of advancement office functions.

 

Lee’s experience includes economic development initiatives as well. His involvement in economic development began early in his career when he was primary legislative aide for the Louisiana State Senate’s Commerce Committee Chairman. Lee later applied his first-hand knowledge of state-wide economic development projects with his ensuing consulting work with Chambers of Commerce across the country.


Over the course of his career, Lee worked as a fundraising consultant for two other national fundraising consulting firms.

 

Lee has worked, managed and successfully led capital campaigns for clients that range from higher education to hospitals to human service organizations. Fully experienced with every phase of campaign design and implementation, Lee has directed many feasibility studies, board development projects, volunteer training sessions and donor cultivation initiatives.

 

Regardless of the focus or venue, Lee is skilled in developing and coordinating the elements necessary for a successful outcome.
