Prior to joining USC, Mandi served almost seven years promoting Columbia, SC as director of marketing for the Midlands Authority for Conventions, Sports & Tourism. She helped launch the region's Famously Hot™ branding initiative, leveraging social media and search engine optimization through an integrated approach to traditional marketing outreach. Her efforts to promote the capital city brought the region much national recognition, including the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism 2010 Governor's Cup Award, the National Association of Sports Commissions 2012 Outstanding Web Presence award and a finalist spot for @columbiasc at the 2011 Shorty Awards, hailed the 'Oscars of Twitter' by The New York Times.

 

Mandi is a founding member of Social Media Club of Columbia and an active participant in a wide variety of community organizations, including the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce marketing and communications committee, the Leadership Columbia advisory committee, and the University of South Carolina College of Mass Communications and Information Studies alumni society.

 

A native of Columbia, SC, Mandi is a 2003 graduate of the University of South Carolina College of Mass Communications and Information Studies, with a B.A. in journalism and mass communications. She is a 2009 Leadership Columbia graduate and recipient of the Glenn Jacobus award, which honors the outstanding class leader as determined by the class. Additionally, Mandi is a recipient of 20 Under 40 by The State newspaper, 30 Under 30 by Destination Marketing Association International, 40 Under 40 by Collaborate Magazine, and the Jupiter Award for exceptional contributions to the use of social media as a communications tool by South Carolina Public Relations Society of America.
